We shot our favourite models mother yesterday, as she needed a portrait for the inside of the book she is publishing. Very exciting. While the lighting was still set up we took a couple of shots of each other. This one is with window light however, at about 7:30pm.

Johnny

Stayed at an apartment with 5 of my friends over the last week. Randomly rearranged the furniture in the hall and did a silent shoot at 1:30 in the morning with a friend staying with us. He was reluctant as he thought we wanted to use the images against him. He was also very tired. I think it took a lot of trust, for him to sit for us, and I think his venerability can be seen in his face, and thats why i kind of love this portrait. He doesnt want it on facebook so Im publishing it only on this blog. I really want to do some more portraits in environments like this, with interesting faces. I must make a list of people who I would like to shoot.

Perrie

Shot recently with a beautiful model Perrie, and Kat G Davidson as the hair and make up artist.

Here are a few of the shots, shot for beauty. I hope to work with this make up artist a lot this year, and this model again too if an assignment comes up that suits.

Kelsey

Over the semester break I was lucky enough to shoot Kelsey Jean, the beautiful sister of "Beauty and the Geek" Dane. Photographer Michael Embelton leant me this fantastic dress. We wanted to do something different with it than Michael had already done. This shot involved a trampoline, a high powered fan, and the model twisting while jumping and whipping her hair back in a very particular way. It was tricky and the model was fantastic. I like this shot because of the position of the hair, and that her eyes are piercing in it.

anér-gyné

Over the semester break I was lucky enough to have access to a great studio, and with one of my most used models, worked on a concept she had wanted to do for sometime. I called the shoot anér-gyné which is where the word androgyny came from, meaning women-man. We shot Demolita in a "fashion" version of neither sex. This shoot was interesting as we never really have trouble with movement, Demolita usually moves well and I need to direct her little. However for this we both had to learn how to make a position look "manly" but not comedic. We then had Simon Bull, our talented hair and make up artist, change Demolita into the opposite, and go very girly. We have shot Demolita as a women before but not ultra girly. We got the pretty dresses out, poofed up hair, and the fan going. I was happy with both results.
